Joel Barsallo

Joel joined the firm in January 2024. He is a Naval Architect/Marine Engineering, who graduated with a BSc in Naval Engineering, from the Technology University of Panama and a Postgraduate degree from the University of Panama.

Joel, having completed a year as assistant Naval Surveyor at Panama Canal Authority, has thereafter worked as a Ship & Project Manager and Cost Estimator in local yards for the last 5 years, undertaking major machinery and hull repair projects on board various types of oceangoing vessels, thus possessing an in depth and comprehensive knowledge of local repair practices and costs in both engine & hull repairs.

Since joining our firm, he is attending and reporting upon a variety of H&M casualties of all types as well as condition surveys, becoming an integral member of our Panama office Surveyors team.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ship and Project Manager/ Cost Estimator Engineer, Bayano & JAM Shipyards, Panama (5 years)
• Assistant Naval Surveyor, Panama Canal Authority (2 years)

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSc in Naval Engineering, from the Technology University of Panama and a Postgraduate degree from the University of Panama.
