Tan Suhong

Tan is a Senior New Building / Marine Superintendent who has graduated from BoHai Shipbuilding College in 1994 after 4–year course, earning a Major in Marine/Electrical Engineering.

Immediately after obtaining his degree Tan was employed in the shipbuilding industry (Jiangsu Shipbuilding Co) for the next 14 years (up to end 2008), reaching the rank of Electrical Production Supervisor after 11 years and Project Manager for 3 years, mainly on Oil Tankers and Passenger Ships NB projects, attaining a comprehensive knowledge of such vessels design and technical aspects.

On completion of his employment in Jiangsu, Tan followed a career on a variety of New Building Projects as Senior On-Site  Machinery & Electrical Superintendent/Team Leader, on various types of Oil Tankers – up to Aframax size – from 2008 to date, with an intermediate 5-year employment as a Technical Superintendent Engineer of a Singapore based tanker shipping company.

With his vast and accumulated experience and high expertise attained in his 30-year career before he came on board our Shanghai office team, he is assigned with the role of our Shanghai office Senior Surveyor.

As such, he possesses an in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of all hull, machinery, safety and regulatory aspects of Oil Tankers (Product & Crude) and all types of vessels, including shipyard repair practices and tariffs for all kinds of hull and machinery production/repairs in China.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERTISE:

• New Building Projects – reaching Senior Machinery & Electrical Engineer Supervisor / Team Leader – (25 years)
• Technical Superintendent Engineer – Singapore Tanker Co (5 years)

 ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Major in Shipbuilding Technology / Marine Electrical Engineering, BoHai Shipbuilding College.
