Eralp Ceylan

Eralp has joined our firm as of April 2025 in our Istanbul office, as a Senior Surveyor.

He is a Naval Architect, holding a BSc in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and an MSc in International Engineering Project Management from the European University of Madrid.

After completing his studies, Eralp secured a competitive internship at a renowned Norwegian shipyard, where he gained hands-on experience in both oil rig outfitting and ship repair projects.

Prior joining our team, Eralp worked as a Marine Consultant at a shipping services company based in Istanbul. During this time, he collaborated with liaison offices in Athens and Singapore, offering specialized ship repair and dry-dock consultation services. Βy providing such services, he was given the opportunity to attain closed and robust relationships with numerous Turkish shipping companies and their technical departments. Furthermore, he became highly skilled in the installation of scrubbers and BWTS units. As such, he acted as a husbandry agent for dry dock projects, primarily servicing Far Eastern, Greek, and German fleets in the Tuzla and Yalova shipyard industry. This experience provided him with invaluable skills in evaluating, negotiating, and compiling drydock quotations for a variety of large ship repair and outfitting projects.

Investing on his gained experience, Eralp diversified his career over the next three years as a Marine Surveyor at VITSAN Claim Services in Istanbul. In this role, he carried out a variety of Hull and Machinery, P&I, and Cargo Surveys, gaining vast expertise in casualty investigation, causation analysis, and the evaluation/approval of damage repair costs. Additionally, he was given the opportunity to combine his marine surveying knowledge with a deep understanding of marine insurance aspects.

In 2022, Eralp was offered a leadership position at a chartering company specializing in petrochemical product trade. This role allowed him to leverage his previous experience as a marine surveyor while gaining extensive knowledge of voyage and time charter contracts for chemical tankers, as well as all operational aspects, including managing claims on behalf of charterers. During the final period of his above employment, he was stationed in Venezuela.

Having decided to return to Turkey, Eralp joined our Istanbul office team as a Senior Surveyor in April 2025.
