Ahmet Oguz

Ahmet has joined our Istanbul office team in early 2025.

Having acquired technical foundation in marine engineering he served as a 3rd Engineer on board chemical tankers for 3 years gaining practical experience in operational, maintenance and repair aspects of main and auxiliary engines and machinery. Subsequently, he was engaged in the ship repair sector employed by a well- established shipyard, where he was involved in several facets of ship repairs, from drafting specifications to detailed planning of works.

As such, he possesses sound technical knowledge combined with practical experience of marine machinery operation, maintenance and repairs of a wide spectrum from on board procedures to shipyard repairs management.

Since joining us, Ahmet has successfully undertaken a variety of casualty surveys, including machinery failures, hull repairs, as well as JH Risk Assessment / Condition and Loss Prevention Surveys on various types of vessels / yachts, acting on behalf of H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs

• Estimator (Ship Repair & Drydock), GEMAK Shipyard – 2 years
• Third Engineer, YMN Tanker – 3 years
• Engine Cadet, Eastern Pacific Shipping – 1 year
• Certified Operator for Ultrasonic Hatch Cover Tightness Testing
• STCW Basic Safety Training
• Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering, Yıldız Technical University, Istanbul, Türkiye
