Joe joined our India operations team in 2026, following a 3-year employment as a Senior Superintendent Engineer of Bernhard Schulte Ship Management (Singapore).
Before seeking a career ashore, Joe had completed 16 years as a sea-going Engineer on board Oil Tankers reaching the rank of 1st Engineer, gaining a vast hands-on experience and expertise in machinery operations, maintenance and repairs, as well as Oil Tankers operation and audits by majors.
Upon joining BSS he was given the role of a Senior Superintendent, exercising his strong academic technical foundation in Mechanical Engineering and seagoing experience. In the process, he also acquired auditing certifications as an internal ISM, ISPS & MLC auditor, also carrying out on/off hire and pre-purchase surveys as non – exclusive surveyor for IDWAL & AALMAR.
Consequently, he brings vast expertise to our India operations and surveyors’ team, in both machinery and shipboard Oil Tankers operations, overhauling/repairs of main and auxiliary machinery, shipboard engineering and drydocking for Class purposes, as well as safety management and statutory compliance requirements.
Upon joining our firm, Joe is actively involved in all kinds of H&M damage surveys, including Risk Assessment and Loss Prevention, acting on behalf H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs.
