Eren Leylek

Eren is a sea-going Marine Engineer who graduated in 2019 from Piri Reis Technical University, Istanbul earning his degree in Marine Engineering, spending an intermediate year at Mircea Cel Batran Naval Academy, Constanta, Romania.

After graduating, Eren was employed for 2.5 years as a seagoing 3rd Engineer Officer on board a capsize bulk carrier (of Yasa Shipping) and subsequently continued his seagoing service until March 2023, on board a 7500 TEU container vessel (under Fleet Management Ltd, Hong Kong) and another capesize bulk carrier (of Eastern Pacific) reaching the rank of 2nd Engineer Officer.

During his seagoing service, he had the opportunity to be involved and gain vast experience on vessel’s main & auxiliary machinery operation and maintenance, also supervising and coordinating maintenance work/repairs on marine engines and propulsion/auxiliary m/y systems and equipment, compiling relevant assessment and technical reports on findings and works carried out on completion.

Subsequently and upon completing his 4 year seagoing service on board, since May 2023 and until joining our Istanbul office team, Eren has worked as a Project planning and commissioning engineer for two shipyards in Yalova, where he had the opportunity to work closely with service engineers and Class surveyors, in commissioning and sea trials of propulsion and auxiliary engines/machinery, as well as conducting inspections and diagnostics on marine engines for identifying and rectifying operational deficiencies.

• Seagoing Engineer Officer – up to 2nd Eng. Rank (4years)
• Yalova Shipyards – Project Planning/Commissioning Engineer (2 years)

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSc in Marine Engineering – Piri Reis Technical University Istanbul
