Luoqiang Guo (Gregor)

Gregor is a Senior Surveyor and Class A Certified Marine Inspector (CMSA) / Class 1 Chief Engineer (CMSA), based in Qingdao, for providing immediate response in North Eastern China / Bohai regional ports and shipyards.

With his vast and accumulated experience and high expertise attained in his 37-year career before he came on board our team, he was assigned with immediate effect the role of a Senior Marine Surveyor, having undertaken numerous Casualty, JH Warranty and Risk Assessment Surveys obo H&M Underwriters, during his employment with Aqualis Braemar between 2016 and 2021 (5 years), as well as subsequently with Charles Taylor (until end of 2022), on completion of which he has been working as self-employed, when he joined our team as of 1^st January 2025.

Having obtained his BSc in Marine Engineering from Shanghai Maritime University in 1991, he initially served as an Oceangoing engineer worldwide reaching the rank of Chief Engineer for a total of eight (8) years, with an intermediate spell of working as A Superintendent Engineer for COSCO Qingdao (3 years).

Subsequently he has worked as a Class Surveyor for GL, both in Germany and China for a total of 11 years, before he joined Braemar in Shanghai in 2016, after also spending 2 years in the Offshore industry (off Qingdao)

As such, he possesses an in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of all hull, machinery, safety and regulatory aspects of oceangoing vessels as well as expertise in H&M Casualty/Machinery Damage Surveys/ Off Spec Bunkers disputes and JH143 Shipyard and JH2016 007A/B/C Risk Assessment, as well as shipyard practices and tariffs for all kinds of hull and machinery repairs in China.

• Service & Maintenance Training – Wartsila / MAN B&W engines.
