Gustavo has joined our firm as of 1st January 2025 in our Buenos Aires office, as our new regional Senior Surveyor in Charge to oversee, manage all our operations in Latam and further develop our presence and network in the whole region.

He possesses vast and accumulated experience and high expertise attained in his 20-year career as a Ship-In-Service and Principal Surveyor/Lead Auditor with three of the IACS Classification Societies in the region (NK, ABS and RINA), as a highly qualified Ships-In -Service Class Surveyor for all types of oceangoing and inland waterways vessels. During his 20-year service, he has also attended on numerous Hull & Machinery Occasional Damage and Drydocking Surveys and carried out accident investigations.

Before he came on board our team and over the last 4 years, he was assigned the role of Regional Head of RINA for Argentina, Urugay, Paraguay, Chile and Peru, thus possessing thorough knowledge and contacts on both Maritime Authorities and Communities of all these Latam region countries and ports.

As such, he possesses an in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of all hull, machinery, safety and regulatory aspects of all types of Oceangoing vessels -Bulk carriers, Container Vessels, Oil Tankers, Gas Carriers etc – Passenger / Cruise Liners and inland waterways fleets of tugs/barges, as well as regional shipyards practices and tariffs for all kinds of hull and machinery repairs in a major region of LATAM.

  • NK Class, Ships -in Service Surveyor & ISM/ISPS Auditor (8 years)
  • ABS Class, Ships -in Service Surveyor & ISM/ISPS Auditor (2 years)
  • RINA Class, Principal Surveyor & ISM- ISPS Lead Auditor (11 years)
  • RINA Class, Regional Head of RINA – Argentina, Chile, Peru, Paraguay and Uruguay (5 years)

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BEng & MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Merchant Marine University of Argentina
