Juan Ignacio Segura

Juan has joined our firm as of 1st January 2025 in our Buenos Aires office, as a staff surveyor.

During his academic years in Buenos Aires Technical University, from which he graduated with a BSc in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, he has worked initially in parallel as Technical Assistance and subsequently as a Superintendent Engineer in ULTRAPETROL for 3 years.

After completing his studies in Argentina moved initially to UK where he briefly worked as construction site Project Manager, before moving to Algeciras, Spain, in 2019, where he worked as a Marine Surveyor for 3 years, being involved in all kinds of marine casualty surveys / investigation, as well as Risk Assessment/Loss prevention Surveys on all types of vessels, on behalf of both H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs, attaining knowledge and experience on both casualty and loss prevention surveying work.

Since returning in Argentina in 2022 and before joining us in January 2025, Juan has been working as a Ship repairs/Project Manager for SPI Astilleros (Mar de Plata).

As such, he possesses an all-round knowledge of both marine surveying work and ship repairs practices/tariffs in Argentina.

With his accumulated experience and knowledge of a variety of Casualty, Warranty and Risk Assessment / Loss Prevention surveys for H&M Underwriters & P&I Clubs, Juan shall be attending vessels in the major Latam region, out of Buenos Aires.
