Jose joined the firm in September 2023. He is a Naval Architect / Marine Engineer, who graduated with a BSc from the Engineering Faculty of Veracruz University, Mexico, after completing his education as a Mechanical / Automotive Engineer at Bachillerato Technical Polytechnic at Veracruz.

Since graduating, Jose has worked in ship repair / conversions and shipbuilding for local yards/contractors both in Mexico & Panama, as Project Manager and Cost Estimator in mega yacht repairs, tugboats and commercial ships of various types and has acquired experience in planning and monitoring both engine & hull repairs, including the supervision of relevant material supply chain and labour costs.

Since joining our firm and having undergone intensive training in our Panama office by attending and reporting upon a variety of H&M casualties of all types as well as condition surveys, before assuming the role of surveyor in charge of our new office in Mexico.

He is fluent in English.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Project Manager/ Cost estimator and Head of mechanical engineering department at Gran Peninsula Yacht Center, Mexico (2years)
  • Internship and Project Engineer/Supervisor, for Talleres Navales del Golfo (2 years)
