Nikos joined our firm in 2002 as Surveyor and became Senior Surveyor and Partner in 2012.

Since joining the firm he has dealt with the majority of complex casualties on behalf of H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs both in Greece and abroad, involving machinery failures, collisions, groundings, fires and salvage/wreck removal operations. In this context, Nikos has attained particular expertise and in-depth knowledge in salvage and wreck removal, attending at the casualty site, monitoring the operations and reporting to Principals on daily progress/cost (in an CSR manner).

Furthermore, Nikos has attended and managed a number of high-profile antipollution operations on behalf of P&I Clubs in Greek waters, being involved in the negotiation of contracts between the Club and local specialized contractors, also collaborating with ITOPF officials.

Together with Stelios Paterakis, he oversees the daily operation of the Piraeus office.

Due to his strong interpersonal and crisis-management skills, he has become the first point of contact for most of our Principals as well as for the Piraeus maritime community when a casualty occurs.

Since becoming a Partner in 2012, he participates in the group’s management team, being involved in the decision-making process and strategic planning of the firm.
