Stelios joined the firm in 2013, after serving for a total of 14 years in the technical departments of shipping companies, reaching the Technical Manager position.

He has undertaken numerous casualty surveys and investigations of all kinds for H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs, including engine failure, collision, grounding and fire damages.

Stelios possesses expertise in engine failures causation analysis, particularly as a result of inferior bunker specifications/catfines, having attended a plethora of casualties on behalf of both H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs (vessels’ or charterers’ interests).

In addition, Stelios has carried out a number of warranty surveys, such as Towage Approval, JH 2013/007A (Engine Room, Machinery and Bunker Fuel Risk Assessment), JH 2013/007C (Crew and Office Management Assessment), as well as JH143 Shipyard Risk Assessment.

Stelios’ organizational and time management skills have proven useful to the daily management of Piraeus office surveyors’ activities and the coordination of external associates’ attendances and reporting, of which he is in charge. In addition, he serves as the liaison amongst our surveyors of our global network of offices, ensuring both smooth intra-group communication and efficient service to our Principals.
