Muzaffer joined the firm in 2015 and he is now in charge of all Shanghai Office operations, survey planning and management. He is also the first point of contact for our clients in China and East Asia Region.
Since then, he has gained expertise on all kinds of damage surveys, involved in numerous casualty investigations, such as engine failures, tailshaft/stern tube damages, collision, grounding and fire cases.
With his background as New Building Supervisor as well as Oceangoing Chief Engineer on board bulk carriers and tankers, he has attained deep technical knowledge on both design and operational aspects of propulsion engines and auxiliary machinery, hull design and coatings aspects, as well as on board overhauling and maintenance and PMS systems.
His expertise lies with machinery failure and root cause investigation on all kinds of damages on diesel engines and propulsion systems. In addition, he has successfully participated in total loss investigations and crew interviewing on major collisions, being multilingual in Turkish, English, Chinese and Russian.
Muzaffer is also carrying out all kinds of warranty surveys and loss prevention surveys for H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs (both IG and Fixed Premium) to include JH143 Shipyard Risk Assessment and Towage Approval Surveys.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Marine Engineer (1st Engineer) – Sea-going service on board bulk carriers and chemical/oil tankers (5 years)
- New Building Supervisor at Shipyards in China (2 years)
- Certified Operator for Ultrasonic hatch cover tightness testing with Class Type Approved Sherlog TA.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Postgraduate Diploma in International Maritime Law, World Maritime University
- BSc in Marine Engineering, Istanbul Technical University Maritime Faculty
