Shi Bo (Bruce)

Bruce is a Senior Class / CMSA Surveyor who has Graduated from Dalian Maritime University in 2004 and subsequently obtained a Major from World Maritime University in Maritime Safety and Environmental Management in August 2012

With his vast and accumulated experience and high expertise attained in his 20-year career before he came on board our team, he is assigned with the role of our Shanghai office Senior Surveyor in Charge.

After graduating from Dalian Maritime University in 2004, Bruce was employed by MSA for a total of ten (10) years. During his 10 year employment he was involved in all kinds of Port State Control/Flag Surveys, Pollution Prevention / Dangerous Cargoes surveys, but most importantly acted as a Maritime Accident Investigator.

Subsequently he has worked as a Senior Class Surveyor for ABS, since April 2014 completing 11 years as a Ship- in-Service Surveyor, having accomplished Numerous Class Renewal/Annual/ Drydocking Surveys, but also vast number of Occasional Damage Surveys across China.

As such, he possesses an in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of all hull, machinery, safety and regulatory aspects of all types / design oceangoing vessels, namely, Bulk Carriers, Container vessels, Oil Tankers (Product & Crude), Chemical Tankers and RO-RO vessels, as well as expertise in Marine Accidents Investigations, including shipyard repair practices and tariffs for all kinds of hull and machinery repairs in China.

His close ties with China Safety Maritime Authorities after his 10 year service with MSA shall be a great asset for our clients, as far as nautical accidents (collisions, groundings, pollution incidents) are concerned.

• PSC surveyor and Marine Accident Investigator – MSA (10 years)
• American Bureau of Shipping (ABS Class) – Senior Marine Surveyor (11 years)

• Major in Navigation Technology (Marine Engineering & Naval Architecture), Dalian Maritime University
• Major in Maritime Safety & Environmental Management Technology, World Maritime University
• ISM & ISPS Auditor (ABS)
